As I am only 13. I do not have many incredible running experiences that I have accomplished in my life time. But, I may have a few to share with you. My first run, hmm let me think way back to when I was a wee toddler, just barely walking, probably napping in the stroller, being pushed the whole ten kilometers to the finish line. From that moment on my friends and family knew that running would be something I was good in.

Year after year we would (try) to raise money for different causes, such as breast cancer, and participate in the runs. At 12 years old I took place in a run that was only 5 kilometers and came in 3 for my age. This was surly something to be rather proud of. Last year I participated in a triathlon- which does consist of running! A  5 km run, 500m swim, along with a 12 km bike. I was about 50th, along with everybody else, people of all ages, young and old. This was a great experience for me; it was not only fun and a great workout but I have come to realize how seriously people take this stuff and the equipment they use. One thing that I remember most about this was how I used my big heavy yellow mountain bike and I could scarcely petal up the small hills as I am being passed by everybody with there road bikes, with the skinny tires and a bike that ways next to nothing! So, next triathlon, a smaller bike!

My final race to this day was sadly only 2 km which I did with my dad.  We did the race in only about 10 minutes and it doesn’t hurt to beat your old dad once in a while! This was also a great race to raise money for the Ottawa hospital which I do try to participate in every year. I will try to continue running and triathlons in my life, but I already have bad knees at 13!!
